bark in the park

Saturday, November 4th | 8:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
Grand Central Park

Mighty mutts and pure-bred pups can strut their stuff at Bark in the Park, a hike for hounds. Humans and their furry Fidos can meet up at the community’s Lake House at 8:00 a.m. for a canine-friendly walk. After exploring the Conroe community’s new trail system, trekkers will be treated to an after “paw-ty” featuring a pup kissing booth, Houston Disc Dogs, music, contests, pet vendors, food trucks, face painting and a bouncy house. The Woodlands Walk to Defeat ALS

Hope for Heroes Gala

Join The Emergency Chaplain Group for the 6th Annual Gala supporting first responders dealing with PTSD. Their chaplains serve EMTs, firefighters, paramedics, law enforcement officers, and dispatchers and their families, working closely with first responders at the scene of an accident and afterwards to cope with the horrific events they witness, such as child fatalities, teenage suicide, or the deadly effects of drunk driving. emchap.org

Disney’s “Tarzan: The Broadway Musical”

Magical Winter Lights

Magical Winter Lights will showcase more impressive and creative lantern sets than its previous years. The 2017 festival will feature seven fascinating themed sections including Magical Wonderland, Mystical Forest, Santa’s Christmas Village, Mystery of the East, Dinosaur Land, Landmarks of the World and the festival’s newest section: The Lone Star State. The Lonestar State section will feature a few of Texas staples including a 36-foot tall cowboy lantern and a maze leading to eight Texas icons and buildings. 28th Annual YMCA Run Thru the Woods

A local Thanksgiving morning tradition, GE Run Thru the Woods, directed by The Woodlands Family YMCA, has supported local non-profits with the goal of strengthening The Woodlands, Spring and Oak Ridge communities for 26 years. Nine years ago Missy and Wayne Herndon met with friends and their community at a night under the stars to share their belief in HOPE. This year, 878 people gathered once again to support their mission of HOPE, and to save Will Herndon. As he grows, so does the support of this urgent mission to save him and all children affected by juvenile Batten Disease. Together, at the 9th Annual HOPE Under the Stars, the community raised $622,943!

Vander Dys Fine Jewelers celebrated their Grand Opening with a bang at their new showroom at 24 Waterway, upstairs from Hubbel & Hudson and Glade Gallery. The evening featured sparkling jewels, private collections, and exclusive designer pieces. A portion of proceeds from the evening went to benefit Helping Hands for Harvey, a local relief fund for victims of Hurricane Harvey.

Business leaders from throughout the community came together for an evening of networking hosted by COSTCO The Woodlands and emceed by Monette Smith. Speakers included Jim ‘Mattress Mac’ McIngvale, who spoke on the importance of relationships in business. Guests enjoyed light bites and drinks provided by COSTCO.

The Woodlands Celebration of Excellence Gala themed “Midnight in the Garden” welcomed over 750 guests at The Woodlands Waterway Marriott Hotel & Convention Center. The 18th annual event, co-chaired by Jenny Coyle and Jena McCrann, was dedicated to honoring the 2017 Hometown Heroes and raising essential funds for Interfaith of The Woodlands. This year’s event surpassed all expectations raising $1.3 million for crisis assistance in South Montgomery County.

Co-Chaired by Montgomery County Youth Services Board member Patti Rivela and Laura Everson, the YES to Youth Gala, themed Caribbean Nights, hosted 550 guests and raised over $500,000 for the agency. Guests generously waived their paddles to support the Fund A Need, and the live auction.

A Mission of the Heart

The American Heart Association’s (AHA) annual Montgomery County Go Red for Women Luncheon arrived in style at The Woodlands Waterway Marriott and hosted nearly 1,000 guests to raise the lifesaving funds to fight the #1 and #5 killers of women – heart disease and stroke. The event raised more than $900,000.
