Performed by the students of Crighton Theatre Summer Camp, come join Dorothy, the Scarecrow, the Tin Man, and the Cowardly Lion on a slightly different adventure in the Emerald City! You’ll see the Munchkins, Glinda, the Wicked Witch, and her Monkeys. Southern Star Brewing Company 5K Beer Run

Saturday, August 4th | 8:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m.

This is event #6 in the Run in Texas 5K Six Pack Series. Starts and finishes at the very cool, very hip Southern Star Brewing Co. One water stop at the 1.5 mile point will be manned by Toys for Tots. After cooling off, runners can hit the tasting room where they will receive a finisher glass and up to 4 x 8oz tastings. More cool things you can expect are: Food Trucks! Brewery Tours! Gardening with Bob Dailey: Fall Vegetable Gardening

Trivia Night Silent Auction

Sts. Simmons & Jude Event Center

Join Education for Tomorrow Alliance (EfTA) as they host the sixth annual fundraiser presented by Consolidated Communications. All are invited to an evening of brain-busting fun and friendly competition where guests will be challenged with trivia ranging from biology to pop culture in pursuit of the Smarties Cup. Each table of ten will form a team and attempt to demonstrate their mastery of trivial knowledge to win prizes and bragging rights. Your ticket will include catering by Avenida Brazil Churrascaria Steakhouse, beer, wine, and soft drinks. All proceeds support local K-12 students through EfTA’s educational enrichment programs. Disney’s Newsies

Based on the 1992 motion-picture, and inspired by a true story, Newsies is a tale of Jack Kelly, a newsboy in New York City, and the leader of a band of teenage “newsies”. After titans of publishing raise distribution rates at the newsboys expense, Jack and newsies from across the city all rally together to strike against the unfair conditions and stand up for what is right.
